SEVEN PALMS, PARKDALE, VIC
There’s something powerful and almost magical about seating yourself at the end of a pool. It’s the perfect spot to experience an architectural moment in its purest form - where water, light, surfaces of stone and tile, perspective and the surrounding location work to dramatic effect, here seen in this spectacular home currently under construction in Parkdale.
Almost eighty years earlier, modernist architect, Richard Neutra, understood this intrinsically with the design for the Kaufmann House in Palm Springs. Renowned photographer, Slim Aarons captured this when he combined architectural space, composition, perspective and location to create one of the most iconic images of the last century nspiring the design of this contemporary home.
