EUROA HOUSE, VIC
Set in a forbidding and spectacular landscape in central Victoria, this house is built from Core Ten Steel, ICF blocks and SIPS panels to provide a high level of thermal insulation. The owner/builder approached Robert Harwood Architects in 2013.
After the design and documentation phase, the works commenced construction in 2015 and were completed in early 2019. This is truely a Grand Design, with works having been filmed along the way by Grand Designs Australia.
A spectacular new home in country Victoria, deep in the heart of Ned Kelly country. This is a dramatic landscape of gentle hills, dusty earth, giant boulders, big skies and panoramic views across the Strathbogie Ranges. Constructed from concrete, glass and corten steel, it references the red oxide in the surrounding rocky landscape and perhaps even a touch of the Ned Kelly spirit. Huge immovable boulders will remain in situ and become part of the home’s interior. When a stunning location, fantastic clients and a desire to create something epic come together. This home was featured in the premiere episode of Grand Designs Australia’s 2019 season.
